CONNECTING WIRE (DCC) A meter bridge verifies the laws of combination of resistances by measuring unknown resistances using the principle of a Wheatstone Bridge.
Principle of the Meter Bridge
Wheatstone Bridge Balance Condition: A meter bridge consists of a uniform 1-meter-long resistance wire (usually made of an alloy like manganin or constantan) stretched along a scale. It works on the principle that at null deflection (zero current through the galvanometer), the ratio of resistances in the two opposite arms of the bridge is equal to the ratio of their corresponding lengths.
Series Combination
when two resistors R1 and R2 are connected end-to-end so that the same electric current flows through both.
Parallel combination
When two resistors R1 and R2 are connected across the same two common points so that the potential difference across each is the same.
