   This experimental setup is used to determine the resistance of a galvanometer by the half-deflection method. It includes a galvanometer, resistance box, rheostat, battery eliminator, plug keys, connecting wires, and other essential accessories for accurate measurements and reliable results in B.Sc.    The experiment is based on the principle that the deflection produced in a moving-coil galvanometer is directly proportional to the current flowing through it.

   When a suitable resistance (shunt) is connected in parallel with the galvanometer, a portion of the current passes through the shunt, reducing the current through the galvanometer. The shunt resistance is adjusted until the galvanometer deflection becomes half of its initial value.
