This joules calorimeter (teak wood ) , useful for conducting the electrical method of determining the specific heat capacity of a liquid. Comprises of a nickel plated copper calorimeter measuring 7.5 cm tall and 5 cm in diameter. Lagged and enclosed within an outer vessel of well polished wood fitted with bakelite top with hole for thermometer and stirrer . Two terminals are connected to coil of wire for passing current . This joules calorimeter help us to understand the principle of calorimetry indicates the law of conservation energy.
