This K constant spring apparatus is totally made of iron with powder coating. one end of a long flat spiral spring is fixed and the lower end is pulled by a short jerk and released, longitudinal waves are produced. The apparatus consists of a spiral spring about 25mm diameter and 10cm length. The upper end of the spring is suspended from a chuck nut and the lower end is provided with a small pointer which moves over a vertical wooden meter scale. the lower end is also provided with hook for carrying weights. All this setup is provided on a heavy metal base, supplied with weights.

Description

Description

With the help of K constant Apparatus we can determine the graph between load and extension. In the class 11 Physics experiment given here, we will be learning how to find the spring constant of a spring by plotting a graph between the load and extension. The Spring constant, also known as the force constant, is the restoring force per unit extension in the spring. Its value is determined by the elastic properties of the spring. you can calculate the spring constant by plotting a graph between the force applied to a spring and its displacementThe spring constant is the slope of the graph.

We Supplied the below apparatus with this Experiement:

  1. K Constant Spring Apparatus
  2. Slotted weights set of 5
  3. Instruction Manual
