Description
This Solar and Lunar Eclipse Model helps us understand the phenomenon of eclipses and this model helps us understand both solar and lunar eclipse. Eclipse happens whenever the Earth , Moon and Sun lie in a single line. But during their revolution when the moon lies between the Sun and the Earth and blocks light from the Sun and forms shadow on Earth, this is called Solar Eclipse.
Lunar Eclipse happens when the Moon moves into the Earth’s Shadow, causing the Moon to be darkened. Such alignment occurs during an eclipse season, approximately every six months, during the full moon phase, when the Moon’s orbital plane is closest to the plane of the Earth’s orbit.
