Description
SPECIFICATION: The electric bell is constructed by the iron core and one end of a coil (a wire) is connected to the terminal of the battery. When the hammer touches the screw, the steel rod acts like a spring and the hammer contacts the other terminal of the battery.
• Input:- 6 Volt D.C., 3 Amp
- When 6V DC is applied, current flows through the coil.
- The coil acts as an electromagnet, attracting the metal armature.
- As the armature moves toward the electromagnet, it pulls the hammer to strike the bell, creating a sound.
- This motion also breaks the circuit, stopping current flow.
- The armature returns to its original position via a spring.
- The circuit is completed again, repeating the cycle rapidly.
- This rapid making and breaking of the circuit causes continuous ringing.
This setup is an excellent way to demonstrate electromagnetic induction and mechanical motion.
