Description
SPECIFICATION: A solenoid is a coil of wire, typically wound into a cylindrical shape. When an electric current flow through the wire, it generates a magnetic field around the coil. This magnetic field can move a ferromagnetic object, such as a soft iron plunger, inside or outside the coil. The solenoid is essentially an electromagnet, and it is used to convert electrical energy into mechanical motion or force.
Uses of a Solenoid: Electromagnet, Switching Devices, Engine Starter, Solenoid Valves, Electric Lock, Electric Bell, Gas and Oil Pipelines, Sound Production, Pumping Systems
